Our Why
Amavi Wellness was created from a place of love, compassion, and a very personal story. When my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016, I saw how deeply the journey of treatment affected not only her health, but also her confidence and sense of self. Offering free classic lash extensions to women who had lost theirs during chemotherapy was my way of giving back — a way to help restore even a small piece of beauty and confidence during such a difficult time.
That simple beginning grew into what Amavi Wellness is today. Our why has never changed: we exist to create a safe, supportive space where women feel seen, cared for, and uplifted. Breast cancer awareness isn’t just a cause we support — it’s part of our foundation, our story, and our promise to always put heart, healing, and community first.
Amavi Wellness Charity Gala December 2019.
In December 2019, we hosted a charity gala in Calgary that brought together numerous generous sponsors and community supporters.
With the incredible support of TD Bank, local realtors, the Canadian Cancer Society, and donations from countless Calgary businesses that helped us run raffles, the evening was a true testament to the power of community.
Through their kindness and contributions, we were able to raise over $2,200 for the Canadian
Cancer Society. The night was filled with laughter, dance, music, and heartfelt support for those touched by breast cancer. More than just a fundraiser, this event was a celebration of strength, unity, and compassion — a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together to uplift and honor the women and families in our community.
Amavi Wellness started with a very personal mission. Before we became a wellness clinic, we were known as Amavi Lash Studio. In those early days, our focus wasn’t on growing a business — it was on giving back. When my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016, I witnessed firsthand the emotional and physical impact of treatment. Watching her lose her hair, brows, and lashes was heartbreaking, and I wanted to find a way to help women facing the same journey feel like themselves again.
That’s when I began offering free classic lash extensions to women who had lost their lashes during chemotherapy. What seemed like a small gesture became something much more powerful — it gave women a moment of normalcy, a spark of confidence, and a reminder that they weren’t alone.
Those early experiences shaped the foundation of what Amavi would become. Today, as Amavi Wellness, we carry that same spirit of compassion and empowerment into every service we provide. While we’ve grown into a space that offers advanced skincare, acupuncture, and holistic health, we’ve never forgotten our roots. Breast cancer awareness and women’s health remain at the heart of who we are — a constant reminder of why we started and why community will always be at the center of our mission.
